The two
Captains Regent are the Heads of State and fulfil their
mandate collectively.
They are
elected by the Great and General Council (Parliament)
among its members. Their mandate lasts six months and the
ceremony of their investiture takes place each year on 1st
April and 1st October.
They
deserve the title of “Excellency” but once they have
finished their mandate, they preserve neither prerogatives
nor titles.
The Captains Regent coordinate the sittings
of the Congress of State without any right to vote; they
summon, preside over and lead the works of the Great and
General Council and of the Council of the XII. |
